Tommy and Toby help to save the planet

Tommy (6) and Toby (4) youngest brothers of Tia creator of Tia's Treasures in 2011 and who recently featured in the local and national news for their Norfolk Nee Nors and their 999 Challenge which consisted of sending 999 letters, drawings and photos to 999 Ambulance Stations all around the UK and beyond have a new hobby to help save the planet.

Each week day from 7.45am until 8.30am and 3.00pm until 3.45pm (some times later, weather permitting) Tommy and Toby will be collecting litter from the streets of Gorleston On Sea on their way to and from School.

On the first week 9 bags of litter were collected by the boys.

Tommy describes it as "satisfying" and they've both said they love it and would love to eventually do something a long the lines of a sponsored litter collection to raise funds for their school EYFS Garden and ECO Garden.

The boys have also collected litter from the grassed area on Crab Lane, The Magdalen Cemetery and Gorleston Crematorium, whilst there they cleaned graves of loved ones and left flowers, they also left a single flower on as many of the graves which had nothing on them, some dating back to the early 1900s.

Tommy and Toby hope their efforts inspire others to follow suit.

Tia's Treasures Young Epilepsy JustGiving Page has reached our £1000 target yesterday evening.

As previously mentioned we had planned to hold a Fundraising event of some kind to celebrate Tia's Treasures 9th Birthday on 21st May to hopefully achieve our target but due to the current situation with Covid 19/Corona Virus this unfortunately wasn't possible.

We had been thinking of ways of how we could raise the last £200 to achieve our £1000 target from the comfort of our home and as I (Lisa) was long overdue a hair cut (last one was just before Christmas)I decided to brave the shave as part of the Cov Head-19 Challenge.

The Covhead-19 Challenge was launched last month by William Bull from Oxfordshire who wanted to "get people making the most of a bad situation".
